Adult ADHD assessments involve a structured clinical evaluation that explores whether long-standing patterns of attention, organization, impulsivity, or emotional regulation are consistent with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder—or whether another explanation may better account for current concerns.
Adults seek assessment at many stages of life—sometimes after career changes, increased responsibilities, academic demands, or mental health stressors. Others pursue assessment after years of uncertainty.

Assessments are conducted by Mark Lynch, MN-PHCNP, FNP, MSc, a Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience across primary care, psychiatry, ADHD management, and virtual care.
Whereas many ADHD assessment centres involve long wait periods and extensive fees, we’ve done everything we can to ensure quick appointment times (up to same day) at rates matching the most affordable in the province. Currently Only $299.
Many conditions can resemble or overlap with ADHD, including anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep disorders, learning differences, and medical conditions. The assessment process explicitly considers these possibilities to ensure conclusions are based on the full clinical picture.
**When ADHD is not identified as the primary diagnosis, individuals may still receive guidance, recommendations, and support for addressing contributing factors and next steps.
Validated clinical screening tools may be used where appropriate, but they are never used in isolation. Equal weight is given to history, context, functional impact, and clinical judgment.
Validated screening or rating scales may be used where appropriate to support clinical reasoning. These tools inform—but do not determine—diagnostic conclusions.

Assessments may occur over one or more virtual appointments, depending on clinical complexity. Adequate time is reserved to ensure the process is thorough and un-rushed. Many adults spend years questioning whether their experiences “count,” whether they will be taken seriously, or unsure if ADHD is the right explanation at all.
Our ADHD assessments offer a comprehensive, thoughtful, and clinically grounded evaluation. The goal is for you to feel heard and respected so that we fully understand your experience and can help provide you with clarity.

This service may not be appropriate if you are:
No. An assessment is a clinical evaluation, not a guarantee of diagnosis. Some individuals meet criteria for ADHD, while others find that different factors better explain their experiences. The goal is accuracy and clarity, not a predetermined outcome.
Yes. ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that begins in childhood, but many adults are not assessed until later in life. An adult assessment looks carefully at developmental history, current functioning, and supporting clinical evidence.
Medication is not automatic. Treatment options are discussed only if clinically appropriate and based on assessment findings. Many individuals benefit from non-pharmacologic strategies, education, or therapy, either alone or alongside medication.
If ADHD is not diagnosed, you will still receive clinical feedback and guidance. Where appropriate, this may include discussion of other conditions, recommendations for next steps, referrals, or coordinated care planning to address identified concerns.
Validated screening tools may be used where appropriate, but they are only one part of the assessment. Diagnosis is based on a comprehensive clinical interview, history, and professional judgment—not on scores alone.
In some cases, laboratory testing or other investigations may be recommended to rule out medical contributors to symptoms. This is determined on an individual basis and discussed during the assessment.
Coverage varies. Nurse Practitioner services may be covered by some extended health insurance plans, but are not universally covered by OHIP. You are encouraged to check with your insurer regarding reimbursement.
Yes. When conducted by a regulated healthcare provider using secure, compliant platforms, virtual assessment is an accepted and evidence-based approach for adult ADHD evaluation in Ontario.
